RE: Seventh Inning Stretch: Polishing Your Game
Spring Workshops on Child Support Enforcement

Dear Colleague:

For the last three years, the Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) has hosted a series of conferences focusing on the interrelationships between child support policy, programs, and automated systems. In response to positive feedback from State participants, OCSE is planning to hold two workshops in April 2001. The first conference will be held on April 2nd through April 4th at the Crown Plaza hotel in Seattle, Washington. The second conference will be held April 23rd through April 25th, at the Crystal City Gateway hotel in Crystal City, Virginia.

The spring workshops, entitled, "Seventh Inning Stretch: Polishing Your Game", will provide an excellent opportunity for your staff to learn how other States are enhancing their systems and integrating the use of many new tools into their daily operations. In addition to current usage we will explore future enhancements to federal systems and discuss the best approaches for implementation.

We strongly encourage you and members of your program, policy, and systems staff to attend.

While Tribal representatives are welcome to attend the conferences, these sessions will be geared to programs that have systems that are certified or near certification. OCSE plans to hold a separate systems conference that is geared toward assisting Tribes in the design and implementation of their systems.

Please hold these dates and make plans to join us at one of the Spring Conferences. Further details including registration information and a tentative agenda will be sent at a later date.

If you have questions please contact Kathy McCaughin at (202) 260-2785 or by e-mail at kmccaughin@acf.hhs.gov.

We look forward to seeing you in April!

Sincerely,

David Gray Ross
Commissioner
Office of Child Support Enforcement
