Information to be Derived
Seismic reflection profiles, velocity stacks, gravity, magnetics,
bathymetry.
Summary
5,000 km of lines recorded, 3,000 km of this in the Adelie
Coast area. 18 lines of seismic reflection, gravity, magnetics, and
bathymetry, from abyssal plain to continental shelf west of the
Dumont d'Urville polar station.
Notes
Antarctic Program multichannel seismic reflection data collected
and processed by the Institute Francois du Petrole in 1982. This data was
received by USGS in 1986 in exchange for a similar data package of USGS
seismic data sent to J. Wannesson of the Institute Francois du Petrole in
Paris. Details of data recording and processing can be found in Wanneson
et. al. (1985). Steve Eittreim, 1/27/2004.
