Actor Morgan Freeman Narrates New Public Service Announcements for NRCS
The TV spots encourage Americans to help care for the natural resources of "this
planet full of life and wonder." Viewers may call 1-888-LANDCARE to receive
information on how to volunteer to be part of the Earth
Team and help make a difference in their own communities.

Actor Morgan Freeman holds the pair of Telly
Awards he won for narrating NRCS public service announcements. The Telly Awards is an
annual video and film production competition that gives recognition to
outstanding non-network and cable commercials. "Morgan is very proud of
these awards and was honored to receive them," says Mississippi State
Public Affairs Specialist Jeannine May, pictured here with Mr. Freeman. "He
is a dedicated conservationist, and the public affairs staff in Mississippi is
honored to work with him on promoting our agency's assistance to
landowners." Mr. Freeman received his awards at a reception held by NRCS in
his honor.
Serving
with Ms. May on NRCS Mississippi's Public Affairs Staff are Audio-Visual
Information Assistant Ervin Ricks and Visual Information Assistant Laura
Anderson.
