Nearly one-fifth of the Nation's military activities are located within Southwestern Division, covering nearly 440,000 square miles. The Division provides engineering, construction and environmental management services for 11 Army and 12 Air Force installations.
We design and manage construction of new facilities, rehabilitate older ones, and assist with installations' engineering problems. Our facilities help to ensure soldiers are trained and ready and that they and their families have an enhanced quality of life.

Mission of the ISO
The Installation Support Offices (ISO's) were established at the seven USACE Divisions by the Chief of Engineers in December 1998 with the mission of small project development, O&M technical services, and guidance to installation DPWs and MACOMs. Working in conjunction with the Corps of Engineers Project and Program Managers, ISO team members are available to provide a wide range of support for base operations and maintenance functions. For OMA funded customers, direct support is furnished without charge. For all other USACE customers, including other services and agencies, the ISO team is available to discuss your needs.

The members of the ISO came from the former Center for Public Works (CPW). USACE has spread the DPW support mission between the Huntsville Engineering and Support Center, the Installation Support Offices, and the Installation Support Division (ISD) of the Military Programs Directorate of HQUSACE. Most ISO members have worked at a DPW, and have several years' experience supporting the DPW from MACOM HQ's, or Corps Districts.

Depending on the complexity and scope of the desired work, the individual ISO may call upon internal assets, other ISOs, District, Division or Lab resources to accomplish the action. Assistance from outside the ISO will be provided from ISO Checkbook funds, where possible. When Checkbook funds are not available, work will be accomplished on a reimbursable basis. All work will be coordinated with the supporting Corps of Engineers Project Manager (PM). The ISO is an additional service offered to assist the DPW (BCE) in this age of shrinking workforces and budgets. For activities other than ARMY, the services of the ISO may be obtained on a reimbursable basis.

The work with and through the supporting Installation PMs and PM-Forwards to ensure the customers needs are met.

Our Installation Support Team is ready to provide a wide array of products and services. Whether the support comes from our in-house work force, other Corps Districts or Labs, or from the private sector, the Installation Support Team will work with you to determine the best value.
