SWD isn’t just ready to help in the good times. We are here in the bad times too. You can count on us when floods, severe storms or other natural disasters strike our Nation.
When called upon, we are the first-responders who meet the immediate physical needs of victims by providing ice, drinkable water and generators. But, we also provide flood-fighting materials, remove debris and inspect damaged structures. We respond quickly and efficiently to solve a broad range of technical and environmental challenges.
In addition to emergency response under our own authorities, we also assist other federal, state and local agencies in getting recovery efforts started.
