Welcome

The American Red Cross of the PA Heartland Chapter prides itself on its friendly and efficent work.  We welcome all who want to contribute to their communities and support their neighbors in need.

Since most of our work is done by volunteers, you will never find a better group of people to work with.  Who could be nicer than people who give of themselves freely to help others?

Because more than 90% of our work is done by volunteers, we are able to keep cost down and do more with the donations we rely on.

We take the job of being good stewards very seriously.  What we do is a reflection of the people of Cameron, Elk, Jefferson and Clearfield Counties.  We hope you like what you see.

RED CROSS NEWS AND Notes

Chapter Summer Events

Summer 2012 has kicked off with a series of exciting events for the PA Heartland Chapter. Along with the Annual First Bash of Summer Carnival, DuBois Community Days and Driving "FORE" Disasters Charity Golf Tournament (pictured left), the chapter has also established a new executive director.

Jason Bange, Bradford, took the role of the new executive director for The American Red Cross' Pennsylvania Heartland Chapter as of June 1. Bange will serve as the executive director for both the PA Heartland Chapter and the McKean-Potter Chapter.

Bange has been with the American Red Cross for over five years, and for the past four, has held the position of executive director for the McKean-Potter Chapter.

In his recently acquired position, Bange replaces Robert Newell as the executive director of the PA Heartland Chapter. Newell will remain with the organization as its new preparedness and resiliency specialist, which is a regional role.

The move comes as a result of a recent internal transition to a new division within the Red Cross as well as a nationwide reorganization. These restructuring and efficient efforts taking place will save an estimated $8O million across the Red Cross.
