EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE

There are education and training opportunities available, and TAPS is pleased to be able to help you discover these benefit programs.

The Dependents’ Educational Assistance (DEA) program provides education and training opportunities to eligible dependents of certain veterans. Individual states may also choose to offer education benefits in addition to federal benefits. Since each state is responsible for the establishment and administration of its own benefits program; the amount, type and eligibility requirements may vary from state to state.

TAPS has compiled a detailed comprehensive guide to benefits offered by each state.  The guide offers specific details on who is eligible, the type of benefits, and how to apply for those benefits.

Eligibility:  Restrictions are broken down by relationship to the deceased, age limitations, state residency requirements, and nature of loss.

Type of  Benefits:  Each state offers varying levels of assistance ranging from full tuition and board, to a modest stipend.

How to Apply:  TAPS offers detailed instructions on how to apply for benefits, access to forms and applications, and links to sites where applications can be requested.
