Congressional Art Competition It’s time for the Annual Congressional District High School Student Art Competition “An Artistic Discovery” Sponsored by: Congresswoman Hilda L. Solis The winner will travel and view their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.! Open to all high school students (grades 9-12) residing or attending school in the 32nd Congressional District, including Azusa, Baldwin Park, Covina, Duarte, El Monte, Monterey Park, Rosemead, South El Monte, West Covina, and portions of East Los Angeles and El Sereno. Guidelines: Artwork must be two-dimensional, not exceed 30 inches by 30 inches, no more than four inches in depth, and within the following categories: Paintings, drawings, collage, prints, mixed media, computer generated art, photography. Click here for the official guideline packet. Art work must be submitted by close of business Monday, April 14, 2008 to my El Monte Office at 4401 Santa Anita Ave. Ste. 211, El Monte, CA 91731. Pieces submitted after April 14, 2008 will be disqualified. The winner will be announced at a ceremony on Friday, May 2nd at the 2008 “Artistic Discovery” Event.
