WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Sam Brownback today commented on the current economic situation.

"It is clear that we need to act in Congress," said Brownback. "It is also clear we need to get it right. Clearly we have a financial market that is frozen up...and it is not moving. But now is not the time to assess blame; now is the time for us to come together and act. We need to make some adjustments to the current proposal. Now is the time for us to get back to work and get a system that can have broad bipartisan support."
