Interns are a great help to Senator Sanders and his staff, and serve a valuable role on Capitol Hill in general. Interns also benefit greatly from the experience, by gaining knowledge of the inner workings of the Senate, and by finding a number of unique opportunities to learn during the course of their stay. Internships are available in Washington DC, as well as in Burlington, Vermont. For more information on what our interns do, please visit:

As the Senator represents the state of Vermont, preference is given to Vermonters. Even so, all people interested in progressive public policy are encouraged to apply. We have no fixed application deadlines, but the sooner you apply, the better. Internships are unpaid. Interns are generally undergraduates at the time of participation.
