Each year I have the pleasure of nominating outstanding young men and women from the 21st District to four of the United States` military service academies. Each applicant for a nomination must meet the following eligibility requirements as of July 1st of the year of admission to an academy:
AGE: Be between 17 and 23 years old.
CITIZENSHIP: Must be a U.S. citizen.
Applicants are carefully evaluated based on numerous qualifications. These include character, scholarship, leadership, physical fitness, medical fitness and motivation.
Interested students should request an information packet or contact my office in Kerrville in the spring of their junior year in high school to begin the application process.

I am now accepting nomination requests for the classes starting in the summer of 2009. The deadline for applications is October 31, 2008. For your convenience, you can complete the online "nomination form".

For students looking to find out more information regarding the academies, we also invite you to attend one of our Academy Days. The San Antonio Academy Day will be March 2, 2008 at USAA and the Austin Academy Day will be March 30, 2008 at Concordia University. Both will be from 2-4pm and representatives from each academy will be present for questions after the presentation.
