The Department
of Labor (DOL) can provide assistance for anyone who has work-related
questions and concerns. Small Business Owners can search the DOL's
small business
handbook for laws and regulations on a wide variety of topics.
Information regarding retirement benefits, including 401(k) plans,
can be obtained from the Pension
and Welfare Benefits Administration (PWBA). Federal workers
can obtain information about compensation on the Office
of Workers' Compensation Programs (OWCP) web page.
There is also information about grant
programs administered by the Department of Labor. Additional
information about grants and other assistance programs can be
obtained from the Catalog
of Federal Domestic Assistance.
I have filed a claim with Workers
Compensation for a work-related injury. I havent heard anything
from them since my last doctors appointment.
Senator Kyl can contact the OWCP office in San Francisco,
which handles Arizona claims, and inquire about the status of
the claim.
I have questions about how my pension works.
Can the Senator help me?
If you have checked the DOL web page and still have
questions, Senator Kyl can contact the agency on your behalf and
request that it provide clarification or answer your questions.
The OWCP has denied my compensation claim.
I want Senator Kyl to help me get the compensation I deserve.
It is not within Senator Kyls jurisdiction
to tell an agency what to do. In this case, he can contact OWCP
and inquire why the claim was denied, but he cannot tell the agency
to approve the claim.
