@sdreinhart1975 - vmware also uses GPU with DX9. No advantage to me, but worth mentioning |
@sdreinhart1975 - Interesting; heard a lot of bad things about Parallels lately. Use Vmware on OSX and Vmware or VirtualBox on Ubuntu |
@sdreinhart1975 - The main reason I did it is because devving under OSX is horrible. Now I'm running OSX, XP & Ubuntu I get best of all 3. |
Actually "hate" is a strong word. "Very much dislike for anything other than web browsing, iPhone dev and watching flash movies" better |
Also, I think I need to make time for a detailed post on why I hate OSX so much I spent a day configuring VMs to supplement its weaknesses |
@_hb - No gfx acceleration under VMs (in effect) but everything else (disk access, CPU) native speed. |
@ahousley - I was thinking of distributing the VM, but TBH it's not massively difficult once you think of it. Instructions/post to follow |
