OpenSUSE has more recent versions of the development frameworks and tools that I use. Ubuntu 8.10 doesn't come with Python 2.6 or Mono 2.0. |
OpenSUSE 11.1 is perfect. I've been testing openSUSE consistently since 10.1 and this version has finally convinced me to switch from Ubuntu |

@chrisblizzard: I haven't tested it with time machine. I mount it via NFS. Only major problem is that its admin UI is buggy in Firefox 3. |
@foresmac: Python 3.0 is a minor improvement because it consolidates urllib and urllib2, which cleans up the API a little bit. |
@clint: form uploading is not an edge case. :-P You shouldn't have to manually encode requests by hand every time you upload to Flickr. |
Python's urllib2 is really crappy. It doesn't provide a way to monitor progress and it doesn't support multipart form uploads. PyCurl FTW. |
