@oh_steph we thought of Juno too -- the family works together and is supportive, so it fits the bill.
@donturn they don't have to be Stepford families, I was thinking that the point was that the family unit works even if it's unusual.
trying to think of movies with happy, non-dysfunctional families in them -- but not too sappy/treacly. Any ideas?
ohhhh, cocoa. what would I do without you?
@donturn my family used to run or work the Turkey Day race in New Orleans, for years. I have some weird Thanksgiving memories as a result.
@chipr bacon-fried turkeys?
@goodwitch sending good thoughts your way, hoping everything is going well.
question for NOLA-area ppl: any recommendations on decent places in Metairie (or New Orleans) for breakfast?
trying to prepare for Thanksgiving. resisting strong urge to hide under a desk all day instead.
@Jenn_Brown got another one for you: Siodmak's "Christmas Holiday" -- http://tinyurl.com/6bc9ot (sounds good and depressing)
reading "best of" holidailies entries from years past for potential project; wonderful, but want to shake ppl who delete their archives.
@Jenn_Brown "Remember the Night" is a good one, if you can find a copy anywhere. And the 9 million versions of "Little Women."
@ihermit2 what exactly were you doing to burn all those calories?
just found out we are having fried turkey on Thanksgiving, fried with bacon in the oil. mmmm it's gonna be a healthy holiday.
working on Holidailies 2008 banner and wishing I had better graphic design skills.
@adamrice I can't explain Synecdoche, NY either, except that I really liked it even though it seemed to drag a bit near the end.
on bus on drag yay.
waaaaaiting for a bus. Where are you, 101?
I have meatloaf and mac'n'cheese for lunch. life is good.
