I gotta give props for this morning's logo surprise to our design elf @nicktheonlybehavioremployeenotontwitter.
Came into the office this morning and found this total awesomeness on the main Behavior conference room whiteboard: http://twitpic.com/rw30
The level of codification seen in the fields of, say, film or ergonomics will, I think, never be reached in interaction design. I hope not.
May I please eat my lunch now? Yes.
I think this will be the last night for the next two weeks where I haven't planned for after-work drinks, holiday party, or event to attend.
I take back what I said about Mint adding uniques - it does not. It reflects true uniques for all time periods. My error! Sorry @shauninman!
@michaelconnolly Okay. I didn't get that you were referencing the fact that February is shorter.
@stuntbox You threw me when you said weeks. I get it. So uniques in week two will usually be smaller than in one, and again in three & four.
I thought I'd feel stupid asking about unique visitors, but clearly based on the responses there are very many definitions of what it means.
@michaelconnolly So the numbers go down each month? unique visitors in December might then be a tinytiny fraction of the uniques in January?
@stuntbox If 1 million uniques visit in one week, and you get 1 million the next, how do you know that, say,850,000+ aren't the same people?
@stuntbox I assume your monthly number is not a sum of each day's unique count? My stats app, Mint, adds each day's total to get the week's.
I've seen also seen people and apps take unique visitors per day and then add them up to get the uniques per week, month, or even all year.
Just read someone extrapolate from "unique visitors per month" to estimate a vastly larger number of "uniques per year". Doesn't make sense.
It's quite embarrassing for me to ask: Can anyone explain what "unique visitors" means? It's never time-delimited, but it can't mean *ever*.
Problems with the printer drivers on several machines simultaneously. I typed the error message into Google. Only four hits, but one worked!
@adamgreenfield Perhaps in three or four years you will have to ask "on your person" instead of "under your roof". Or even "in your pocket".
Today's news has me wondering if Illinois's Candidate 5 (http://tinyurl.com/6h6k2s/) knows New York's Client 9 (http://tinyurl.com/yuktx7/).
I've achieved Inbox No-scroll, but only at the expense of causing Things (my to-do list app) to sprout a scrollbar. Did Sisyphus follow GTD?
