UNT branding earns five awards from international creative competition

DENTON (UNT), Texas -- The Division of University Relations, Communications and Marketing at the University of North Texas earned two platinum awards, two gold awards and one honorable mention from the 2008 MarCom Awards, an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals.

MarCom Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. Judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. More than 5,000 entries were received from throughout the United States and several foreign countries.

Two platinum awards went to UNT's Transfer Advantage Brochure in the brochure/recruitment category and "Top 10 Reasons to Choose UNT" in the direct mail/brochure category.

Two gold awards went to UNT's new brand campaign in the marketing/promotion campaign/corporate branding category and the Graduate Viewbook in the brochure/viewbook category.

Lastly, UNT received one honorable mention for the Scholarship Brochure in the brochure/informational category.

"It's gratifying to be recognized by our peers and to see our team's efforts elevate UNT's brand," said Rolando Rivas, director of Integrated Branding at UNT.

Platinum and gold awards are symbolized by the MarCom statuettes, which are designed and individually cast by the same artisans that craft the Oscar®, Emmy® and MTV Awards. All platinum and gold winners are listed at MarCom Awards website.
