Students must have a minimum overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.00 ("C" average) on a 4.00 grade scale. Freshman students who have taken the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE), the West African School Certificate (WASC), the Kenya Certificate of Education, the Hong Kong Certificate of Education, or a similar school leaving exam must present a minimum of 5 passes at grade "C" or higher.
You must present official secondary school transcripts, diplomas, certificates and/or national test examination scores as given in your country. All applicants must possess the equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma. Please refer to the table of minimum equivalents to a U.S. high school education. If you hold a credential that is not listed, please contact our office for more information.
Freshman transfer students who have completed less than 30 credit hours of transferable coursework must submit high school credentials (showing a minimum 2.00 GPA) and all college/university transcripts (showing a 2.50 GPA).

A transfer student is defined as any student new to UNT who has previously been enrolled at another college or university prior to attendance at UNT.
UNT evaluates credit only from recognized accredited academic institutions. Applicants must submit records of all accredited institutions attended, even if they do not wish to transfer the credit to UNT.
Transfer students with less than 30 transferable semester hours of college work must meet the entrance requirements for undergraduate freshmen, have a minimum 2.5 grade point average (4.0 grading system) and be eligible to return to any institution attended.
Transfer students with 30 to 44 transferable semester hours must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.25 on a 4.0 grading system. Transfer students with more than 44 hours of college work must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 grading system.

Applicants must have a minimum overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.80 on a 4.00 grade scale OR a 3.00 on the last 60 credit hours. International Admissions will determine which courses fall within the last 60 credit hours. If your GPA meets the minimum admission requirements, the department of major will determine if your overall academic record and test scores meet department requirements.
