 Upcoming SLIS Visits

Each year, the SLIS Dean, Associate Dean, and selected faculty visit sites around Texas and in locations outside Texas where SLIS students reside.  The purposes of these visits include:

  • Meeting with current students.  These meetings (also called “All School Days”) involve a discussion on the latest developments at SLIS, a panel of local practitioners, and advising.  They are an excellent opportunity for SLIS students to meet with SLIS leadership, each other, and local professionals.  Attendance at these sessions is highly recommended.  Upcoming meetings will be announced on this site and posted to the SLIS Village Calendar as far ahead as possible.
  • Information sessions at local libraries and information centers.  SLIS personnel will provide information to prospective students at various locations in the area.  Current and former students are welcomed to participate in these sessions.  Please contact the person giving the information session ahead of time so they can make sure you are part of the presentation.
  • Alumni gathering.  SLIS personnel will host an informal dining event to which SLIS alumni are invited to renew acquaintances and to be briefed on the latest developments at SLIS.
