'Super Size Me' director Morgan Spurlock speaks at UNT

The lecture and question-and-answer session begins at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 (Thursday) in the Silver Eagle Suite of the UNT University Union, Level 3, one block west of Welch and West Prairie streets. Tickets are $20 for the general public; $10 for UNT faculty/staff with UNT ID, senior citizens (60 and older) and non-UNT students; and free for UNT students with UNT ID. Call (940) 565-3805. "Super Size Me," Spurlock's first feature film, received an Oscar nomination, the Writers Guild of America Best Documentary Screenplay Award and best director prizes at the Sundance Film Festival and the Edinburgh Film Festival. Spurlock is also the author of the non-fiction book, "Don't Eat This Book: Fast Food and the Supersizing of America." He hosts the FX television series "30 Days," which premiered in July 2005 and has addressed such issues as immigration and outsourcing.
