Important News

Training Needs Assessment Update

In September the HR Department sent out a campus wide survey via an administrative announcement to get feedback from employees on training needs.  Over 440 staff and faculty completed the survey!  The HR Department held six focus groups following the survey's completion which included both the Dallas and Discovery Park campuses.

The survey looked at a number of components of the training program.  Some of these aspects included: types of training needed, preferred methods of training, amount of time an individual can spend in training and preferred time of day for training.  We are working diligently to develop training programs that will assist employees in their professional growth at the university.  Thanks to all who responded for your participation and candid feedback!

Recognition E-Cards

The university's service recognition awards vendor provides access to an E-card website for all supervisors and managers as a way to recognize employees for their contributions and accomplishments.  Visit the website at http://www.csistars.com/prog_ecard/index.asp?PROG_ID=UNTX and add this to your recognition toolkit to communicate your appreciation!

Town Hall Meetings

The Division of Finance and Administration hosts a Town Hall meeting each quarter for staff to ask questions and discuss current initiatives happening within the division.

“We want staff to ask about any activity involving these important areas,” says Andrew Harris, vice president for finance and administration. “UNT is a large and changing organization with lots of new initiatives in the works. We want to be sure our staff has an opportunity to learn about what is planned and why things are done.”

Future quarterly Town Hall sessions will include the following departments:
