How disappointing... Last week's ratings bump for "Life" (after some NBC holiday special) was just an aberration. Bring on Leno, I guess.
@scott_tobias Also, with all the daffy comic performances the Globes honored, missing Brad Pitt in "Burn After Reading" is disappointing.
@jschau2 SJP won four times for "Sex in the City" and the Globes gave her a nod for freakin' "The Family Stone." So yeah... wee bit shocked.
@scott_tobias I actually meant silly in a *good* way regarding Franco's nod. I'd have liked to see "Pineapple" up for Picture (Comedy).
Factoid: Keri Russell & Jennifer Garner won Globes for "Lost" and "Felicity." Evangeline Lily got a "Lost" nod. Sorry, Anna Torv.
More shocking snubs: Sarah Jessica Parker for "Sex and the City" (the Globes *love* her) and Cate Blanchett for "Ben Butt."
The near one-to-one matchup of Best Picture Drama, Best Director and Best Screenplay is nearly unprecedented for the Globes.
Interesting that "Milk" apparently bombed with the Hollywood Foreign Press. Not putting much stock in that, Oscar-wise.
This was, of course, the Golden Globes' last chance to honor "The Wire." Not surprised to see the opportunity lost.
An acting nomination for Kiefer in "24: Jack Goes to Africa"? HAHA Also, everybody loves Tom Wilkinson, but how was he a lead in "Recount"?
I'm just ignoring the nominations for "True Blood." Seems safer that way. And did I miss the acting Kevin Connolly did on "Entourage"?
January Jones for "Mad Men"! Great nod. But none of the support Mad Women. Poor Christina Hendricks.
Biggest obvious film omission? "Rock Me Sexy Jesus" in the Best Song category. On to TV
On the movie side, hard not to feel like "The Dark Knight" got screwed... But James Franco! That's just plain silly!
The Globes have a history of loving Scarlett Johansson, so it's interesting (but appropriate) that Rebecca Hall got the "VCB" lead nom.
That's a lot of nominations for "In Bruges," but it was a clever, violent little film that got lost in the spring shuffle.
OK. Time to check out the Golden Globe nominations at a reasonable hour. And to tweet while doing it
The "Top Chef" Quickfire was far better than your basic "That's cheese!" palate challenge, set to "Name That Tune" rules.
Funny "Life" casting tonight: Michael Raymond-James without his "Cajun" accent and Rachel Miner fully dressed
"Trip over an ottoman and Dick Van Dyke that ass." Oh "Pushing Daisies," how I'll miss you.
