@cbarrett @boredzo Make? i.e. -makeWidget. Or just name it like an ordinary getter: -widget.
Wow... searching for NSLog on developer.apple.com, Foundation Functions is on Page 3. First 2 1/2 pages are Web Objects crap^H^H^H^H hits.
@cbarrett Also mem mgmt guidelines state "You "create" an object using a method whose name begins with “alloc” or “new” or contains “copy”"...
@cbarrett That's true. From the +[NSObject new] API docs: "The returned object has a retain count of 1 and is not autoreleased."
@kamitchell I'm fairly certain @rentzsch is aware of my opinion. No need to to weigh in.
@schwa And proud of it! *whips out a stack of 5 1/4" floppies*
@jimcorreia I still often buy CDs and then rip, too. Better quality, no DRM, and self-contained backup, FTW.
@gparker Oh, that's so awesome. Of course, I'd need to buy a new NES for that, since I've got one of the old front loading ones.
Someone needs to tell Other World Computing that brushed metal is dead. Apparently they didn't get the memo.
@kiranmaxweber OWC is Chicago? Huh.. didn't know that.
Drobo should make a version that uses 2.5" drives. It'll happen in due time, I suppose.
@schwa @rentzsch Heh.. the Drive Docks are cool, but I'd prefer something I can keep on my desk all the time w/ no risk of static zapping :)
@wisequark Isn't that what Gravatar is supposed to solve? http://en.gravatar.com/ A "federated" system would be nice so I could host my own.
In the market for USB/FW drive enclosures. Recommendations? Wiebetech? OWC? 2.5"? 3.5"? Only 2.5" FW are bus powered, right?
Just killed another Singleton. I get a prize.
Grrr... objectWithID:, why do you not return an id? *adds to bug list*
@fetjuel Huh.. thanks. I stand corrected. :)
@mj1531 Q-Bert, GnG and Centipede are great as well. GnG is Fuckin-A difficult. I left a ton out, too, but those are still my Top 5.
@fetjuel I asked for a NES for Chanukah so I could play SMB at home w/ virtually identical gfx. Quite possible the NES version was 1st, tho.
