shopping for a new snowboard and bindings. I'm so bummed that burton no longer makes my step-ins. Time to go old skool, again.
just finished preturkey feast run. Starting on monday I am *offially* training for a May 70.3. I have a loong way to go. Espeically swimming
@GeorgeReese the ec2 launch time is ok. even dynmaic apps should be able to look 15 minute into the future. :) when does your book come out?
@GeorgeReese wrt to relability, you have a point there. it's a trade off. Lots of 9's for lot's of $'s. Most s3 problems don't effect ec2.
@GeorgeReese we mean the same thing. Why cant dynamic scaling be part of the plan? why pay for all of those ec2 instances that have no load?
@GeorgeReese Why do you think dynamic scaling is a result of the lack of capacity planning? For us, it is a specific part of our cap plan.
@GeorgeReese I guess YMMV. But for us, dynamic scaling is *the* thing that makes EC2 make economic sense.
@GeorgeReese but you can't launch new ec2 instances without s3, do dynamic scaling dies with s3.
yet another S3 outage. Ah, the cloud. I think S3 goes down (or, in aws speak, a 'high error rate') way more often than peeps realize
@timoreilly:not what you asked for but I'm a SBO customer who keeps thinking about upgrading or canceling but neither choice is what I want.
