@Katrinskaya thanks for the links on social media demographics
Foggy morning spent on the waterfront walking with the beast.
Pies done.
@geilhufe and how that intersects with the people orgs need to bring on board as collaborators
@geilhufe thanks for the link. Also interested in more stats about the demographics of different social media networks...
@joshkittner Thx for the follow and love the bio. Great soundtrack very necessary in facing the future.
Nice to see #tweetsgiving on the twitter search trending topic list: http://tweetsgiving.org/ @staceymonk rocks!
And, as a side note, anyone know about the demographics of these sites really? Age and location pivot-table like?
@ntenhross That *is* a great story. But shouldn't npos be building the next gen of relationships
@peterscampbell Well, I'm not saying that you can't run a biz w/o email really talking about the outreach/list building part.
@ntenhross I'm with you on the transition. Maybe that's a reason it's not email first. So that you can be on the slider of change.
Also, feeling contrarian today. It's the advent of the mother-in-law I'm sure (and you Austin peeps, pls don't tell on me)
@peterscampbell Agreed about the world being on email. Wondering were a small new npo should invest their infrastructure though.
@neddotcom Good point that the magic of Obama was in the combination of the elements vs. one of them specifically.
@ntenhross Email does teach a lot of basics but it changing? I mean, spam filters, smart phones, etc. What do we learn in 140 characters?
@geilhufe why of course? there is significant list building (and tracking) that can be done by social media
@peterscampbell I don't think its a blanket assumption and if you start thinking about the functions there might be some tradeoffs.
If you were in the US Congress, would you be thinking "But don't these people need to be confirmed first?"
Laura Quinn at Idealware thinks email comes before social media. Not sure I agree. What do you think? http://tr.im/1hwx
