@AMamasBlog Yesterday she grabbed a cookie out of my wife's hand and stuck it in her mouth. Didn't really know what to do with it then.)
Speaking of unions and change, this is huge in North Carolina: the world's largest pork slaughterhouse voted to organize. http://is.gd/bhLy
@AMamasBlog I think she wants to walk like Kidrocket and eat like her papa. :D
@AMamasBlog Agreed. Baby is doing great, except for some reflux issues. And her frustration at not being able to walk or eat a hamburger.
@AMamasBlog The real solution is to remove healthcare expense from this artificial connection to employment.
@AMamasBlog Union benefits are bargained-for and agreed-to by the automakers. They aren't complaining to Congress about that.
@AMamasBlog The healthcare problem is much bigger than this little crisis.
@AMamasBlog Actually the big elephant is employee pension and retiree healthcare obligations.
@AMamasBlog I don't disagree that the auto industry needs to change, including the unions. But this is pure politics on the part of the GOP.
@AMamasBlog The auto industry just wants a loan.
@AMamasBlog Also, Big 3 are not complaining about wages. They came to Congress because their credit dried up, despite that $Trillion.
@AMamasBlog I don't see Congress micromanaging the banking industry after pledging a Trillion Dollars to bail it out.
@AMamasBlog The US bailed out Chrysler previously, in the 80s. Chrysler repaid that loan ahead of schedule.
@AMamasBlog All this quibbling & complaining over lending $15 billion to Big 3 after hundreds of billions thrown at AIG makes me sick.
@AMamasBlog It is also completely unreasonable for Congress to be micromanaging the relationsihp between automakers and their workers.
@AMamasBlog It's totally unreasonable to let 3.3M people lose their jobs because lame duck Republicans want to stick it to the workers.
@AMamasBlog Clearly the unions need to change and they have been, but starting off by giving up hard-earned wages is completely unreasonable
@AMamasBlog How reasonable would it be to let Congress cut your income in half overnight?
@AMamasBlog But the UAW has made concessions every contract renewal for the last decade to help keep the Big 3 afloat.
@AMamasBlog Seems like the Senate Republicans mainly wanted to put the screws to the unions. They didn't care about compromise.
