Road Closures:
The Parkway is closed due to debris on the road from Bull Gap at Milepost 355 all the way to Milepost 375, just south of Mount Mitchell State Park.
The Parkway is closed not only to cars, but to bicycles and hikers due to a failing retaining wall across the road from Craggy Gardens Visitor Center at Milepost 364.5.

Forest Message
Be weather wise. Many byways in National Forests can climb in elevation over thousands of feet, and pass through remote areas. While the scenery is spectacular, it is important when driving in these conditions to be prepared. Check weather forecasts before leaving home, and remember that it becomes cooler and often more prone to storms at higher elevations. Be prepared with jackets, water, and emergency kit in your car.
