Speaker Biography: R.L. Stine's writing career began at the age of nine when he wrote stories and jokes on an old typewriter and handed them out at school. He is now the author of more than fifty books, including the Goosebumps series, "Nightmare Hour," which received a Children's Choices Award, and "Dangerous Girls," his most recent book. As an advocate of literacy for kids, he created a writing program, R.L. Stine's "The Nightmare Room Writing Program," which is available free of charge to educators nationwide. He lives in New York City.
