AMENDMENT PROCESS ON H.R. 2506, THE FOREIGN OPERATIONS, EXPORT FINANCING, AND RELATED PROGRAMS APPROPRIATIONS BILL, 2002

The Committee on Rules is planning to meet on Wednesday, July 18, to grant a rule for the consideration of H.R. 2506, the Foreign Operations, Export Financing, and Related Programs Appropriations Bill, 2002, which may require that amendments be printed in the Congressional Record prior to their consideration on the Floor.

The Committee on Appropriations ordered the bill reported on Tuesday, July 10, and filed its committee report today (H. Rept. 107-142). Members should draft their amendments to the bill as reported by the Committee on Appropriations.

Members should use the Office of Legislative Counsel to ensure that their amendments are properly drafted, and should check with the Office of the Parliamentarian to be certain their amendments comply with the rules of the House.
