EPA Honors Employees at Fifth Annual Awards Ceremony

[EPA press release - December 2, 1975]

The Environmental Protection Agency today presented awards to 22 individual Agency employees and five Agency groups at its fifth annual awards ceremony. The ceremony also marked the fifth anniversary of the Agency's founding on December 2, 1970.

EPA Administrator Russell E. Train spoke in honor of the 73 employees receiving awards, and in celebration of the Agency's anniversary. "We are not only honoring those employees who have distinguished themselves by their achievements and contributions to the Agency and its mission but we are also celebrating our fifth anniversary," Train said.

"I feel it is a great privilege for us to have the opportunity to work for and contribute to the EPA goal," Train said. "The challenges that we face and the obstacles that we must yet overcome, are no less critical now than they were five years ago.
