The FHWA Office of Bridge Technology, using the technical expertise of Dr. Scott Douglass (University of South Alabama), has recently completed a joint effort to revise and update FHWA Hydraulic Engineering Circular (HEC) 25, “Highways in the Coastal Environment, 2nd edition”. The HEC-25 provides the national transportation community guidance for the planning, analysis, design, and operation of highways and bridges in the coastal environment. This new 2008 edition of HEC-25 is posted in the Office of Bridge Technology’s Web site and is now available for downloading at www.fhwa.dot.gov/bridge/hydpub.htm. Hard copies of HEC-25 are not available for distribution.
