- Third National Conference on Population, Health, and Environment – March 5-7, 2008
The Population Reference Bureau and Conservation International invite abstracts for participating in a conference to promote equity, health, and environmental stewardship. Taking place in Tagaytay City, Philippines, the event theme is Scaling Up Population, Health, and Environment (PHE). Field practitioners, policymakers, researchers, educators, media, community leaders, and advocates who want to explore strategies and opportunities for advancing PHE integration or for communicating on these complex development topics are invited to participate. - Symposium Marks 5th International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Cutting (FGC) – 02/06/08
USAID's Bureau for Global Health and the Population Council’s FRONTIERS Program invite you to a day-long symposium that will present findings from a decade of USAID-funded studies on evaluating approaches to encourage the abandonment of FGC carried out by the FRONTIERS program. - 16 Days of Activism – Eliminating Gender Violence – November 25-December 10, 2007
Beginning on the International Day of Eliminating Violence Against Women, encompassing World AIDS Day on December 1, and ending on International Human Rights Day, 16 Days of Activism raises awareness about the violence that women and girls face in our global communities as a result of their unequal status in society and the intersection of violence and public health and development obstacles.
- USAID and Johns Hopkins Launch Family Planning: A Global Handbook for Providers
On September 27, 2007, USAID and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health launched the newly updated publication Family Planning: A Global Handbook for Providers at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C.

- First Meeting of the Interagency Youth Working Group – 05/07/07
USAID and the Interagency Youth Working Group (IYWG) held their inaugural meeting on May 7, 2007, in Washington, D.C., and discussed results, experiences, and applications related to improving reproductive health and the prevention of HIV among young people ages 10 to 24.

The theme this year was Celebrating People and the Planet; where USAID highlighted its Population, Health, and Environment (PHE) programs that work toward a sustainable balance between people, animals, and the planet in regions critically important to the conservation of biologically diverse ecosystems.

To commemorate International Women’s Day 2007, USAID celebrated successes in improving women’s health worldwide.

On February 6, 2007, USAID's Bureau for Global Health and the Population Reference Bureau hosted a day-long symposium on FGC. The theme was "Broadening the Base, Renewing the Agenda."
