Primary interest is in the application of gravity and magnetic techniques to the solution of geologic problems. Work has included studies of tidal gravity, temporal gravity changes associated with tectonic and volcanic deformation, earth fissuring due to groundwater extraction, regional geophysics in mineral resource assessments, plate tectonics of western North America, continent-scale relationships between gravity and upper-crustal geology, and the tectonic evolution of the California Coast Ranges. Most recent work has focussed on the use of regional gravity and magnetic anomalies to understand the structure of and offsets on faults of the San Andreas system. |
