Financial and Technical Assistance
The program is administered by the USGS and includes State geological surveys and bureaus within the DOI that maintain geological and geophysical data and samples. Other organizations are encouraged to participate by partnering with eligible Federal and State agencies. Proposals are accepted and evaluated once each Federal fiscal year.
The federal share of any state originated activity may not exceed 50% of the total cost. The State match may be either with their own resources, with other State agencies' resources, or with private industry resources.
