G828 SHIP CAPTAINS AND MATES, EXCEPT FISHING BOATS
Captains—-Command water-going vessel (ship, barge, ferry, etc.) to transport passengers, freight and other cargo. Set course of ship and order crew worker at helm to steer ship.

Mates—-Supervise and coordinate activities of crew aboard ship. Inspect holds of ship during loading to insure that cargo is stowed according to specifications. May be required to hold license issued by U.S. Coast Guard, depending on waters navigated and tonnage of ship.

Also include Navigator, Barge Captain, Deck Officer.
