COMPASS is committed to public and stakeholder involvement that is comprehensive, effective, and meaningful, and our Public Involvement Policy reflects this belief. The public outreach plans we develop for each project support the policy and are dynamic documents that may be modified in response to emerging issues and data. Specifically, COMPASS public involvement will:

• Provide an open planning process with many opportunities for public participation.
• Communicate accurate, understandable, and timely information to the public.
• Gather input by providing people with meaningful opportunities to participate.
• Comply with requirements of Title VI Civil Rights Act of 1964 and ensure all citizens regardless of race or income have the opportunity to participate.
• Build upon previous public involvement efforts, both at COMPASS and member agencies.
