Biographical Sketch:
Monica Hansen has worked as a botanist and a plant ecologist for the CPRS for over 5 years. She completed her undergraduate degree in botany and graduate degree in environmental sciences and policy at Northern Arizona University. Her master's degree focused on assessing sustainability of a harvested plant species at Walnut Canyon National Monument. Her work at CPRS has consisted of updating the flora of Petrified Forest National Park and developing vegetation maps for Wupatki, Walnut Canyon, and Sunset Crater Volcano National Monuments. She is currently working on developing new vegetation maps Canyon de Chelly National Monument, Mesa Verde National Park, and Petrified Forest National Park.
