We conduct research to solve problems faced by the U.S. tree fruit industry by  developing new strategies, methods and technologies:

  • To identify, detect, manage, and control pre- and postharvest pathogens, diseases, and physiological disorders of deciduous tree fruits and fruit trees, including those currently controlled by methyl bromide used as a pre-plant soil fumigant.

  • To improve fruit quality through fundamental studies of fruit physiological and biomolecular processes.
