Jeffrey N. Shane

Before returning to public service in 2001, Mr. Shane was a partner at the international law firm of Hogan & Hartson L.L.P. in its Washington, DC, office. He had a domestic and international transportation practice, with a major emphasis on regulatory, legislative, and transactional issues. From 1994 through 2001 Mr. Shane was Chairman of the Commission on Air Transport of the International Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Military Airlift Committee of the National Defense Transportation Association. He was Chair of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Air and Space Law from 2001 to early 2002. From 1985 through 1989, he was Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University, teaching a course in International Transportation Law. Mr. Shane received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his law degree from Columbia University, where he was Articles Editor of the Columbia Journal of Law and Social Problems. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar. In April 2006, Mr. Shane received Aviation Week's L. Welch Pogue Award annually given for lifetime achievement in aviation. Mr. Shane, his wife, Jean Wu and daughter, Annie live in Washington, DC. |
