Professional Highlights |
• Serves as an ITS specialist in Operations in the Resource Center, with emphasis on road weather information systems (RWIS), technical review of specifications and ITS standards, promoting safety within rural communities, and advancing rural ITS
• Development of regional ITS architectures, including national ITS architecture training; development of ITS telecommunication networks/infrastructures; and the development/application of advanced traveler information systems (ATIS)
• Led the design and implementation of the Gary-Chicago-Milwaukee (GCM) ITS Priority Corridor ATIS which won FHWA´s best traveler information website for two consecutive years;
• Served as ITS project manager responsible for the Chicago area Traffic Management Center computer upgrade project
• Employed as a transportation professional for more than 20 years with the Illinois DOT, through which gained a broad knowledge of all facets of transportation;
• Worked as senior ITS project manager with experience in electrical engineering systems, object development, ATIS, and communication networks
• Served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineers Corps
• Assisted Wisconsin Division and Wisconsin DOT on the Road Weather Safety Task Force formed in the aftermath of a tragic fog-related crash on I-43;
• The National Highway Visibility Conference scheduled for May 2004 resulted from this effort; serving as conference program director
• Provided continued support and technical assistance to the Kansas Division and Kansas DOT for the past two years in the development of a Kansas statewide ITS architecture;
• Facilitated stakeholder discussions and oversaw data entry using turbo-architecture software product data
• Provided technical support to the Alaska Division and Alaska DOT by assisting in a review of their RWIS communications analysis for sites in the Anchorage area;
• Currently assisting in development of ITS standards for their intelligent specialty vehicle system (ISVS) ITS deployment package
