CONTRACTS

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

General Electric Medical Systems, Milwaukee, Wis., is being awarded an estimated $5,496,032 firm fixed price firm fixed/requirements contract for fixed and modular magnetic resonance imaging scanner systems with turnkey installation. Fourteen proposals were solicited and three were received. Work will be performed in Waukesha, Wis., and is expected to be completed by Jan. 12, 1998. The Defense Personnel Support Center, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SP0200-95- D-8701).

DEFENSE ADVANCED RESEARCH PROJECTS AGENCY

General Dynamics, Marine/Bath Iron Works, Bath, Maine, Team Leader, will receive a $15,000,000 modification to a Section 845 agreement to continue development of Arsenal Ship concept designs into functional designs for Phase II of the joint Navy/DARPA Arsenal Ship Program. Work is expected to be completed by January 1998. This agreement was competitively selected. Agreement funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The contracting activity is the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Arlington, Va. (MDA972-9 6-C-0803)

Lockheed Martin, Government Electronic Systems, Morrestown, N.J., Team Leader, will receive a $15,000,000 modification to a Section 845 agreement to continue development of Arsenal Ship concept designs into functional designs for Phase II of the joint Navy/DARPA Arsenal Ship Program. Work is expected to be completed by January 1998. This agreement was competitively selected. Agreement funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. Northrop Grumman Corporation, Sykesville, Md., Team Leader, will receive a $15,000,000 modification to a Section 845 agreement to continue development of Arsenal Ship concept designs into functional designs for Phase II of the joint Navy/DARPA Arsenal Ship Program. Work is expected to be completed by January 1998. This agreement was competitively selected. Agreement funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. ARMY

Olin Corp., Winchester Division, Independence, Mo., is being awarded a $22,905,086 modification to a cost plus award fee contract for the operation and maintenance of a government owned/contractor operated facility. Work will be performed at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, Independence, Mo., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 1998. Of the total contract funds, $3,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Dec. 17, 1996. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Armament, Munitions and Chemical Command, Rock Island, Ill. (DAAA09-91-Z- 0009.

Thiokol Corp., Defense and Launch Vehicle Division, Brigham City, Utah, is being awarded a $7,949,337 cost plus fixed fee contract for 104,700 pounds of Acetol/Formal (a chemical plasticizer) in support of the 5/54 projectile. Work will be performed in northern Utah, and is expected to be completed by June 18, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 27 bids solicited on June 14, 1996, and one bid was received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Armament, Munitions and Chemical Command, Rock Island, Ill. (DAAA09-97-C-0018).

CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co., Oak Brook, Ill., is being awarded a $4,000,000 increment as part of an $11,849,500 fixed price construction contract for the placement of approximately 2,150,000 cubic yards of beach-fill onto Myrtle Beach. Other line items are monitoring of sea turtles and right whales, mobilization/demobilization, surveys, protection of existing structures, bulldozer rental, cost of bonds (bid, performance, and payment), abundance trawline and trawling ahead of dredge. Work will be performed in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 1997. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 45 bids solicited on Nov. 19, 1996, and three bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston, S.C. (DACW60-97-C-0002).

Fordice Construction Co.*, Vicksburg, Miss., is being awarded a $5,625,670 firm fixed price contract for the manufacture of 121,000 articulated concrete mattresses. Work will be performed in St. Francisville**, La., and is expected to be completed by July 31, 1997. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were ten bids solicited on Oct. 21, 1996, and two bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans, La. (DACW29-97-C-0018).

NAVY

Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pa., is being awarded a $9,478,375 indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity, cost-type pricing contract for research and development in support of the High Performance Distributed Services Technology (HPDST). Work will be performed in Pittsburgh, Pa., and is expected to be completed by July 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured through a Broad Agency Announcement, with 126 offers received. The Naval Command, Control and Ocean Surveillance Center RDT&E Division, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity (N66001-97-D-8502).

Ellora Software, Incorporated, Devens, Mass., is being awarded a $21,500,000 indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee pricing contract for research and development in support of the Rapid Evolution and Deployment of Effective Pathogen Countermeasures. Work will be performed in Devens, Mass., and is expected to be completed by July 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured through a Broad Agency Announcement, with 39 offers received. The Naval Command, Control and Ocean Surveillance Center RDT&E Division, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity (N66001-97-D-8503). STANDARD Missile Company, McLean, Va., is being awarded a $5,038,483 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-96- C-5336 for 30 STANDARD Missile-1 Block VIB modification kits. Work will be performed in McLean, Va. (32.3%), Tucson, Ariz. (57%), Scottsdale, Ariz. (6.7%), and Chattanooga, Tenn. (4%), and is expected to be completed by April 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of this fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity. Central Gulf Lines, Incorporated, New Orleans, La., is being awarded a $12,452,749 time charter contract for the charter of the MV Green Ridge for use in propositioning of a fleet hospital for the U.S. Navy in the Indian Ocean at the island of Diego Garcia. The charter period is 17 months and expected to be completed by December 1998. This contract includes options which if exercised would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $31,691,927. This contract was competitively procured with 250 proposals solicited and five offers received. Contracts funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Military Sealift Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00033-97-C-3002).
