Information Systems Security Awareness Training

All personnel using FMCSA systems, facilities, or sensitive FMCSA information must complete IT Security Awareness Training no later than June 30, 2008. This requirement includes State employees who access FMCSA safety information systems.

Many States have their own IT Security Awareness Training that is similar to the FMCSA training. In such cases, State employees are allowed to complete their State's training instead of the FMCSA training. State Organization Coordinators (OCs) must ensure State employees who access FMCSA Safety systems complete annual IT Security Awareness Training, either via their own State training programs or the FMCSA training program.

States that do not have their own designated IT Security Awareness Training programs can access the FMCSA Security Awareness Training by visiting https://sat.dot.gov and registering to take the course. If you have content questions or technical issues with this site, please contact the DOT SAT Help Desk at mailto:NATL-SAT-Helpdesk@faa.gov. When asked to select the COTR, State employees should select "FMCSA State Partner" and then type "Not Known" when asked for the COTR's email address. The registration process will not be completed until the COTR information is entered.
