Roles in Enterprise Architecture

EPA has established an Enterprise Architecture (EA) as part of a federal-wide effort to improve management of information resources. The EA helps tie EPA’s business and applications/systems and infrastructure back to their reason for existence which is to support the mission of the enterprise.

The system inventory services provide a comprehensive inventory of applications/systems as required by the EA.
Data registry services provide reusable data elements and metadata for system developers thus supporting the EA’s data architecture.
The reusable component services provide efficient reuse of elements that support a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
The terminology services provide reusable terms and definitions for the development of controlled vocabularies and pick-lists.
