August 07, 2007 (The Editor’s Desk is updated each business day.) Unemployment rates by demographics, July 2007The unemployment rate (4.6 percent) was about unchanged in July. In July, the unemployment rates for adult men (4.2 percent), teenagers (15.2 percent), whites (4.2 percent), blacks (8.0 percent), and Hispanics (5.9 percent) were little changed. The unemployment rate for adult women edged up to 4.1 percent. The data in this report are from the Current Population Survey and are seasonally adjusted.
