Deputy Secretary of State Negroponte Traveling to Colombia

Deputy Secretary of State John D. Negroponte will travel to Medellín and Bogotá, Colombia December 7-9 with the following Members of Congress: Rep. Tim Holden (D-PA), Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI), Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), and Rep. Michael Rogers (R-MI). He will also be accompanied by Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Thomas Shannon and Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs Daniel Sullivan. While in Colombia, Deputy Secretary Negroponte and his delegation will meet with federal, state and local officials, and a variety of trade union leaders, members of the private sector, and representatives from international organizations.
