New Roads in Afghanistan

July 29, 2004, Ghazni, Afghanistan: From the left, Afghan Minister of Interior Ali Jalali, U.S. Ambassador and Special Presidential Envoy Zalmay Khalilzad, and Governor of Ghazni, Assadullah Khaled at a ribbon-cutting to open two roads funded by the United States in Ghazni city to connect its citizens to essential services. One road will significantly improve access for citizens of Ghazni to emergency services provided at the Ghazni Hospital, the only major hospital situated between the capital, Kabul, and Kandahar in southern Afghanistan.
