Customer Service

 

DOI is committed to providing the best customer service possible, and to making our products, information and services citizen-centered. We respond to our customer needs with the intent to advance public participation and public information access. We use technology to help further advance electronic, one-stop government to better serve the public. We find ways to close the gaps between citizens and decision-makers in order to reduce the time it takes to empower employees who are in direct service delivery positions to provide appropriate services to citizens. We are committed to making customer feedback an integral part of our strategic plans, training programs, personnel systems, and other approaches that impact customer satisfaction with DOI products and services.

 

In meeting our commitments to customer service excellence, DOI uses various tools and techniques. These pages offer a quick tour of DOI's customer service toolbox.

 

Interior Customer Service Forum

 

A particularly valuable tool is Interior's Customer Service Forum. The Forum is a team of representatives from various bureaus and offices in the Department of the Interior. The team meets periodically to discuss the various approaches the bureaus are taking to improve customer service and to hear from invited guests from other agencies and non-federal organizations regarding their customer service initiatives. The Forum serves as a network to learn from one another and to share information on best practices. The Forum develops strategies for improving customer service across the Department.

 

These web pages were created by the Interior Customer Service Forum to serve as a resource center for Departmental employees to share information about new and existing customer service initiatives and to identify resources within other Federal agencies.
