Secretary Powell to Deliver Foreign Policy Speech In Louisville, Kentucky on November 19

Secretary of State Colin L. Powell will deliver a foreign policy address on Monday, November 19, at 11:00 a.m. at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Secretary Powell will speak to University students, faculty, staff and officials, and community members in the Brown and Williamson Room of Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

Members of the press who wish to travel with the Secretary to and from Kentucky may request consideration for seat on the aircraft through the Office of Press Relations, either in person in room 2109 or by phone to (202) 647-2492. The sign-up sheet will be posted until Thursday morning, November 15, at 9 a.m.

Secretary Powell's remarks will be fed live by video* to the State Department and can be viewed in the State Department's Press Briefing Room, room 2209. Reporters who wish to attend this Washington, D.C. viewing should enter the State Department through the 23rd Street entrance and present either (1) a U.S. Government-issued photo media identification card; (2) a media-issued photo identification card; or (3) a letter on media organization letterhead stating the reporter is an employee assigned to cover the State Department, accompanied by a valid driver's license or passport. All attendees should allow adequate time to process through security.
