Assistant Secretary Bohlen Asia Trip

Question: With whom did Assistant Secretary Bohlen meet in Tokyo? In Seoul? What is the schedule for the rest of her trip?

Answer: In Tokyo, on Thursday, December 13, Assistant Secretary for Arms Control Avis Bohlen met with Director General for Arms Control Yuji Miyamoto and Vice Foreign Minister Toshikuki Takano.

In Seoul, on Friday, December 14, she met with Deputy Foreign Ministers Yim Sung-Joon and Choi Young-Jin, and Unification Minister Hong Soon-Young. In a separate meeting, she met with National Security Advisor Chung and Presidential Advisor Kim Ha-Chung.

In Beijing, on Monday, December 17, she met with Vice Foreign Minister Qiao Zonghuai. In a separate meeting she met with Acting Director General for Arms Control Cheng Jingye.

She will meet with officials from Canberra on Wednesday, December 19, and return to Washington.
