Under Secretary Hughes traveled to the West Bank July 24-25 to help launch the new Middle East Investment Initiative. Under Secretary Hughes gave remarks at the ceremony, saying "While there, the Under Secretary met with senior Palestinian officials, leaders of civil society, local school children and the Arab language press to convey U.S. support for the Palestinian people and government.
